I write paranormal romance with devastatingly dark elements, and while my characters may face terrible circumstances, I'm a firm believer that a touch of darkness makes the light shine all the brighter.  Stories with the most scaring events have always been the ones to move me, maybe because watching a character make their way through the most difficult of times has always given me strength.
